I guess I was one of the lucky ones if that's what you call it. I gave him $16,000 to build a pole barn that the county did not end up approving the size even knowing they approved my plans first so I figured it was a go. So I ended up not building. He told me that he had two others back out and he would get me my money but to be patient. I did get two checks for $2,000 each and then I get the bankruptcy letter in the mail. I would not use this guy you will be disappointed to say the least and he is not professional and or a man of his word.
Do not give any money to Steve Cain or his associates! His answering service is still taking calls and he is having another man return calls to prospective clients. Mr. Cain is not answering his phone or returning calls himself. Mr Cain took a $6,000 down payment on a barn addition from me in August, he told me he was "so busy" he couldn't do the work until November. I realize now that he never intended to build the addition and was not completing any other projects. I believe he spent those three months getting as many down payments and pocketing the money with the intent of filing bankruptcy, which he did. There should be criminal charges filed against him.
If I could give Steven Cain Construction negative stars I would. This man is a CRIMINAL!! He took $27000 from us, built half a building then filed bankruptcy. After we got notice he filed bankruptcy we found out he didn’t pay the material supplier either and they were going to file a lien against our property if we didn’t pay them several thousand more dollars for material we already paid for!! We found out from the supplier he did this to so many other people as well. He is a crook and a liar! I hope karma works it’s magic on this man!
He Took $7000 from us and a week later he’s gone filed bankruptcy. He also took $18,000 from a friend of ours $11,000 from another gentleman and $78,000 from an elderly woman. Do not give this man any money
Although my basic horse barn turned out pretty well, there were several misunderstandings along the way, and Steve Cain’s attitude was the opposite of “the customer is always right.” Scrap materials were left behind, pounds of nails and screws were strewn around the sight, mixed in the gravel, excess cement was left in the gravel for me to remove after it hardened. I wouldn’t be surprised if a nail or screw ends up in a horse hoof! embedded in one of my horse’s hooves.
